About Me

I’m a wildlife biologist by training who worked with federally listed endangered species in Central Texas. A good chunk of my fieldwork consisted of looking up at these guys:

Golden-cheeked warbler

And looking down at these guys:

A blind Cicurina cave spider

One out-of-state move and one baby later: I am now a part-time NEPA Specialist/writer -wannabe and mom to a sometimes cranky but always awesome monkey-boy; and stepmom to one cooler than I thought was possible stepson.

Some other random stuff:

  • LOVE coffee. It’s up there with double rainbows.
  • I own a glue gun. I used to inwardly laugh at women who owned glue guns. Damn you, Irony.
  •  My claim to fame: I have a blind cave spider named after me.
  • Once, a juvenile white-faced Capuchin urinated on my head. It was spectacular.
